Religion

Our Lady of Natal is a Catholic School and all our Learners have to attend Mass, Religious Education lessons, Morning Assembly and various Catholic Feast Day celebrations (see Admission Criteria).
Part of our Catholic Ethos is to encourage the pupils to look at the way we conduct ourselves, the way we talk and to respect each other's views and traditions. We want our students to enjoy coming to the school and to develop good personal qualities. Our Catholic ethos is positive and this is evident in the enthusiasm the pupils display about their school.
Religious education provides pupils with an opportunity to affirm their own religious identity, whilst also appreciating the religious diversity of our society. The values which we teach are a reflection of our ethos and are aimed at developing the whole child regardless of religious or cultural backgrounds.

CODE OF CONDUCT & DISCIPLINE
All members of the school community have the right to expect a safe and orderly learning environment where every learner can strive for his or her highest educational potential.
Learners must display responsibility, respect, good manners and consider the rights of others.
Each disciplinary case is handled individually with consideration given to the needs of the learner and the severity of the problem.
Our Discipline Policy is designed to enhance the Pre-Primary and Junior Primary programmes and prohibits activities which interfere with the successful running of our integrated, educational programmes.
OBJECTIVES
To establish clear expectations for learner behaviour in the school setting.
To define the role of Staff in the maintenance and enforcement of behavioural standards.
To promote awareness and understanding of the discipline policy throughout the entire school community (learners, educators and parents).
To identify the range of applicable consequences to be administered for violations of this disciplinary code.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE LEARNERS
Learners are responsible for knowing and following rules for safe and respectful behaviour throughout all areas of the school.
Learners have the responsibility to conduct themselves in a manner which is not self-destructive or in any way violates the rights (to learn, feel safe, be treated with courtesy and respect) of their peers or teachers.
Learners are responsible for their own behaviour choices. They learn to be the "boss of their own body".
Learners are responsible for respecting the rights of others.
Learners share the responsibility for asking adult help when their rights or safety are at risk
